China Basin Community Market | TUE |2026 Fall

Description

Community Markets are large-scale, multi-day pantries that are equity-centered and community-led. They feel like a grocery store with community participants able to browse, touch, and choose products.

This opportunity is an indoor community market being operated by Food Bank staff. Volunteers will assist with various roles, including but not limited to: Lead Volunteer, Inventory Assistant, Greeter, Sign-In/Intake, Stocker, Co-Shopper, Loading Assistant/Runner, or Floater.

Upon arrival, volunteers will be assigned and trained for a specific task based on a range of factors, including: number of staff, volunteers, participants, volunteer preference, and other considerations.

----

Individuals and Teams are welcome! Please only volunteer if you have responded to an opportunity.

Orientation and training are included in each shift.

Volunteers MUST be 11 years or older and minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Shifts at Community Markets do not qualify for SFMTA, SF Court, and Project 20 hours, more info here.

  • Closed-toe shoes are required at all volunteer projects.
  • Be aware there will not be a place to store personal belongings, please do not bring valuables.
