What’s new about our volunteer registration system? 

Galaxy Digital is San Francisco-Marin Food Bank's new volunteer reservation system. This is a move meant to make all Food Bank volunteer opportunities accessible in one place. 

 

Why change now?

We selected Galaxy Digital and were hard at work preparing the system to replace all of our legacy systems before the current pandemic. It wasn't ready during the initial weeks of the crisis but as it became apparent that opportunities would grow in quantity and length of time it made sense to fast-track the software that we see as our longterm solution. What better time to use it as volunteers serve in so many various ways with the Food Bank?

We will be learning the system along with you, thanks for your patience as we fine tune the process and experience of using the site.

 

What's going to happen next? 

In the future, all Food Bank volunteer opportunities will be found on this site. As Programs expire in their respective legacy systems we will roll them into Galaxy Digital until every opportunity is here.

What will happen to the record of my volunteer history?

Our focus now is to be able to take reservations and record attendance for existing opportunities. We fully intend to move attendance records from our legacy systems into Galaxy Digital. If you signed-in during a visit to our San Francisco or Marin Warehouse after 2012, we plan to have that information available in Galaxy Digital in the future. Our timeline is dependent upon the current pandemic.
