Nourishing Neighbors

Since 2013, Nourishing Neighbors (formerly Feed the Need) has brought in over 50,000 grocery bags packed full of our highest need items (peanut butter, canned tuna, etc.) allowing us to provide this food to our neighbors.

One Saturday each November, the Food Bank places volunteers in Safeway stores in Marin and San Francisco. Volunteers are tasked with gently nudging shoppers to purchase groceries for donation.

When:

• Saturday, November 16, 2024
• a Saturday each November, date TBD for 2024
• 10:00a-12:00p or 12:00p-2:00p

Where:

• Safeway stores in San Francisco or Marin
• Because all the shifts are on the same day, using the map view is most effective

 Who:

• 2-6 people per shift (including a chaperone)
• Youth of all ages are encouraged to volunteer!
• Teams only (minimum 2 people)
