Effective Monday, August 29, 2022: Masks are strongly recommended, but not required, at all Food Bank locations - more info here.
Thank you for supporting our Home-Delivered Grocery program at the Illinois Warehouse!
This opportunity is different from building grocery bags and takes place outside! Volunteers must be able to lift 25 pounds repeatedly.
*This is not a driver opportunity. If you would like to deliver groceries with us please sign up here.
Curbside volunteers may be asked to:
- Load bags into cars when requested.
- Move prepared grocery bags from the warehouse to the curbside.
Capacity for each opportunity remains relatively low in order to ensure enough space for social distancing - please only volunteer if you have responded to an opportunity.
----
Special instructions during this pandemic:
- Only volunteer if you are healthy and completely comfortable serving.
Instructions:
- Closed-toed shoes are required at all volunteer projects.
- We recommend volunteers not wear jewelry. If worn, all items must be covered by the provided gloves and/or hairnets.
- We suggest dressing in casual and clean layers, as the temperature fluctuates outside.
- Wear a hat and sun block
- Bring a water bottle
----
Orientation and training are included in each shift
Minors must be accompanied by an adult. All volunteers must be 13+ years old.
