Masks are strongly recommended, but not required, at all Food Bank locations - more info here.
Delivery volunteers will pick up around 15-20 bags of groceries from the Curbside Pick-up zone in front of the Food Bank and deliver them to a pre-assigned list of recipients in a given Marin neighborhood. Please make sure to specify any route preferences in the “notes” section of your volunteering shift registrations. This can include the number of stops or preferences for neighborhoods or districts. Due to the nature of the program, we cannot accommodate every request. We want to make sure you have an enjoyable volunteer experience, but we do have certain restrictions. Please make sure to reach out if you have any questions about what we can or cannot accommodate at pah@sfmfoodbank.org.
For your first volunteering shift, please be sure to carefully review our training materials Volunteer Guidelines and OnFleet Video.
We ask that any volunteer who does not feel well refrain from attending their volunteer shift.
Please also come prepared for your shift by doing the following:
- Review our training materials before first shift: Volunteer Guidelines and OnFleet Video
- Please bring a mask/facial covering, the Food Bank will provide gloves.
- Wear close toed shoes
- Please wear comfortable clothing (we recommend layers, a hat, and sunscreen due to the ever-changing weather conditions)
- Please bring a secure lidded water bottle and a snack
- Please bring your charged phone as your delivery route will be loaded onto the OnFleet app.
